For AWAY tournaments click here Hotel Accommodations.docx the reserve your rooms in a timely manner. Athletes will compete in tournaments beginning in March. GFVBC typically attends in-state tournaments with U14 and under playing Saturdays and U16 and U18s playing on Sundays. The uniforms, warm-ups, club t-shirt, kneepads, socks, and shoes must be clean and brought to all tournaments. Parents are responsible for transporting players to and from the tournaments. Car pooling, sharing of hotel rooms, and sharing of snacks is possible with your teammates. Please contact your team parent for assistance.
All athletes on a competitive traveling team are expected to attend every tournament. If an athlete cannot be at a tournament, she must inform the coach as soon as she knows she will be absent. A minimum three weeks’ notice is required in order to ensure enough players will be participating per team for accurate tournament scheduling. This is crucial to the commitment of fellow teammates and to the club. If the club receives notice too late that a team does not have enough players to compete it will incur the loss of that tournament fee and those players will lose that tournament play opportunity.
- During tournament play, all athletes on the bench must be ready to enter the match at any time.
- All officials and coaches will be treated with respect and courtesy.
- The captain on the team is the only player that may speak with the officials. Do not let questionable officiating become a distraction.
- The team’s equipment is the responsibility of the Coach and ALL Players.
During a tournament, the coach should help the primary and secondary officials (their players) during pool play. It is mandatory that the coach be the primary official during bracket play. This relieves pressure from the girls and eliminates conflict among teams.
